NEW YORK: Tesla CEO Elon Musk is always in the spotlight for multiple reasons. According to a report by The New York Times, he had an affair with lawyer Nicole Shanahan, lawyer and ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, The report also claims that Musk and Shanahan used the deadly drug ketamine at a private party. The New York Times claims they have confirmed this information through eight different sources.
Both are said to have used ketamine in 2021 during a birthday party hosted by Shanahan. In the same year, the two also attended a private party held by Musk's brother, Kimball Musk, in connection with the Art Basel festival. The newspaper reports quoting four unnamed people who participated in the program that both of them were missing for several hours. Shanahan also revealed to Sergey Brin that he had sex with Musk, according to the report.
As early as 2022, there were reports that the two were in a relationship. But Shanahan denied this at the time. And she responded that Musk had discussed her daughter's autism treatment with her that night and nothing else. She also expressed her anger at her name being brought up for cheating. Shanahan claimed that her career was based on academic and intellectual credibility, and she was internationally vilified as a cheater. She claimed it was “utterly debilitating and humiliating” to be known “because of a sexual act.”
After that party, Sergey Brin and Shanahan separated, citing irreconcilable differences and filed for divorce in 2022. After 18 months, they officially separated last year.
