NEW DELHI: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India would not hesitate to eliminate people who indulge in terrorist activities and later slip away to neighbouring countries. The response comes amidst the English newspaper Guardian confirming PM Modi’s involvement in the slew of target killings that took place in Pakistan in the recent past.
Britain's Guardian newspaper said that India has killed 20 designated terrorists in Pakistan since 2020 as part of a plan to eliminate terrorists living abroad. Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs in India and the foreign ministry of Pakistan denied any response on the matter.
“If they cross into Pakistan, we will go to Pakistan and kill them. India always tries to maintain good relations with its neighbours. But if the continuous intrusion of terrorists into this land comes at the auspices of our neighbours, expect retaliation of the highest order. Those people will never be allowed to live peacefully again” said Rajnath Singh.
India-Pakistan tensions worsened after the 2019 Pulwama terror attack. Earlier this year, Pakistan had earlier accused India of killing two nationals inside Pakistan in one stealth operation. However, India had denied the allegation outrightly.
