THRISSUR: A complaint has been filed for sexually assaulting a female officer in the Kerala Police Academy. Her complaint is that the officer who is the commandant of Ramavarmapuram office, summoned her to the office and sexually assaulted. In the incident, a woman officer of the rank of head constable filed a complaint to the director of the academy.
The complaint said that she was first assaulted by the officer on May 17. She was summoned to the office saying that prints of some documents have to be taken. The complaint said that she was sexually assaulted when she entered the office. After stopping him, she left the office. She also said that similar situation occurred in the following days as well.
The complainant has demanded strict action against the officer. Her complaint said that she is unable to continue in the academy and is suffering mentally. She said that she decided to file the complaint with the director after consulting her family and friends.
Meantime, it is reported that the officer's complaint has not yet reached the Viyyur police where the academy is located. Reports said an internal investigation has been initiated in the academy following the complaint. It is indicated that the committee has found that there is truth in the complaint. After examining the report of the committee, the director will decide in handing over the case to the police.
