india-israel

NEW DELHI: In a major revelation, Open AI has said it has disrupted operations to influence Lok Sabha election in India. In a report, OpenAI said STOIC, an Israel based political campaign management firm, generated some content on Indian elections. The operation was called 'Zero Zino'.

"In May, the network began generating comments that focused on India, criticized the ruling BJP party and praised the opposition Congress party," it said.

With the help of AI, web articles and comments criticizing the BJP and praising the Congress were created and circulated through Instagram, Facebook, X etc.

Fake accounts of individuals from various fields were created to comment on posts and interact.

Responding to the report, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of Electronics and Technology, said, "It is absolutely clear and obvious that BJP was and is the target of influence operations, misinformation and foreign interference, being done by and/or on behalf of some Indian political parties."
