Private bus collides with lorry in Palakkad, no casualties

PALAKKAD: A private bus collided with a lorry at Chithali on the Thrissur-Palakkad national highway. The lorry proceeding to Ernakulam from Tamil Nadu overturned in the impact. The private bus was coming from Bengaluru. No casualty has been reported in the accident that happened Monday morning at 4 am. The reason for the accident is not clear. The glass panes in front of the bus have been damaged.

There was a truck accident on the Palakkad Chemmanampathi-Muthalamada Road a few days ago. The accident happened when a car and a pick-up collided near the Idukkupara Kundan stream. A pick-up van going to Moochamkundu coconut grove to collect toddy collided with a Kia car coming from Moochamkundu Fivestar Quarry. The pick-up van was driven by Samesh, a resident of Vellinezhi Thirivazhiyoor. Five Star Quarry employee Sajith Menon was in the car. Both escaped with minor injuries. The car was completely destroyed and the pickup van was partially destroyed. In the impact of the collision, the tyres of the pickup deflated. The Kollangode police visited the spot and registered a case.
