Alappuzha CPM leader extends rare support to Geevarghese Mar Coorilos

ALAPPUZHA: CPM Thiruvalla Area Committee Member Advocate K Prakash Babu extended support to Jacobite Metropolitan Geevarghese Mar Coorilos in the wake of the latter’s bitter spat with CM Pinarayi Vijayan. The CPM leader's rare support came during a program organized by 'Face of Thiruvalla' on the occasion of World Environment Day. The event was inaugurated by Geevarghese Mor Coorilos.

“What distinguishes a man with great ideals is his ability to express opinions loudly without cowing to anyone. This practice should continue and expect no repercussions.” Said K Prakash Babu.

In the meanwhile, many in the left cabal are incensed by CM’s undignified remark made at the metropolitan. Many leaders have discreetly expressed disenchantment over the CM’s caustic remark hurled at the Christian priest.

“Geevarghese Mar Coorilos is a known supporter of the left ideology. The criticism should have been viewed constructively but CM resorted to personal attacks.” This was one among the posts from a left-wing supporter that appeared on social media which implicitly supported the metropolitan.

"I have never responded to personal criticism before. I am an ardent follower of the left politics. I have not criticized anyone personally. The Facebook post is right there.” The Metropolitan responded that he stands by what he said.
