Accident in Thrissur again, one killed as car rams into shop

THRISSUR: One person died after a car losing control rammed into a shop. The accident happened at Chazhur in Thrissur. The dead is Velukkara Gopi (61) of Pazhuvil. Two sustained injuries in the accident. Chazhur Chirammal Sijo (43) and Chazhur East Puraikkal Sreedharan (59) are the injured. They have been admitted to the hospital.


The accident happened at 6.15 am today. The car losing control rammed into the people, who were drinking tea from a nearby tea shop and reading newspapers in front of the shop. The car that rammed into them was coming from Peringottukara. The driver may have dosed off leading to the accident. The three injured were taken to Thrissur Elite Hospital, but Gopi's life could not be saved.


Another accident happened in Thrissur Sunday early morning. A KSRTC volvo bus rammed on to the statue of Shakthan Thampuran. All three passengers were injured. It is reported that their injuries are not serious.


While coming out of the stand, the bus losing control, broke the iron fence and rammed on to the statue. The bus has been partially damaged. The bus that met with the accident was going to Kozhikode. The cause of the accident is not clear. An investigation has started
