School bus turns turtle in Alathur, several children injured

PALAKKAD: A school bus overturned in Kattusseri in Alathur on Thursday, leaving many students injured. The bus of ASMM Higher Secondary School overturned into the Cheramangalam canal. A total of 20 children were on the bus at the time of the accident.

After the accident, the students were admitted to Alathur Taluk Hospital. According to officials, the children suffered only minor injuries and there is no cause for concern. The sudden malfunction of the bus axle is doubted to have caused the accident.

In another case, a school bus driver in Kannur was accused of dropping all children midway on the road for reasons unknown. The locals took the initiative and informed the school about the incident. The school authorities then arranged an alternative vehicle for the children to reach home.
