‘Resigning ministerial post not in agenda, plan for development of Kerala will be made in three months’

NEW DELHI: Resigning from the union cabinet is not in my agenda, said Suresh Gopi, who was inducted into the Narendra Modi Government. He told a private channel that he will prepare a blueprint for the development of Kerala within the next three months and give it to the central government.

‘The news coming is not true. I will continue my work as an MP. A blueprint will be prepared for the development of Kerala. The Prime Minister also knows that cinema is my passion. There are a few films to be completed which I have committed. An accord has to be made on it. Apart from that, resigning is not in the agenda', said Suresh Gopi.
The invitation obtained had mentioned that will be taking oath as Minister of State. If was not satisfied with it, should not have gone for the oath taking. That is what NCP leaders Ajit Pawar and Praful Patel did. However, the portfolios getting will be known only later.

There was news that Suresh Gopi is dissatisfied with the Minister of State post given despite his historic win in Thrissur. Reliable sources hinted that the actor is likely to leave the post given. It is heard that such a move is due to the dates given to four films, including one related to the history of the famous Padmanabhaswamy temple. However, there are reports that sources close to him have hinted that it would be foolish to leave the ministerial post for film acting.

‘Expecting to be removed from the ministerial post soon. Need to do films. Let the central leadership decide. Will do well as an MP in Thrissur. Was not interested in the post of the union minister.’ Suresh Gopi had earlier told a media. Meantime, the portfolios of the new ministers will be announced today. It is hinted that Suresh Gopi is likely to be given the cultural affairs department.

Suresh Gopi, who came to Delhi after his victory met Modi and secured a seat in the third Modi cabinet. He was informed in the meeting that the official notification and information will be received later. However, Suresh Gopi had reached the capital city from Delhi on Saturday to complete his plans including visit to the Padmanabhaswamy temple. As it was believed that he would leave the capital city yesterday morning, the media stationed at the actor’s house in Sasthamangalam and at the airport since morning. He had also blocked three tickets on Air India flight leaving at 6.10 am.

However, as he did not receive the official notification till yesterday morning, the actor did not leave. With this, there were speculations that Suresh Gopi might not become a minister in the first phase. All the channel cameras were in front of the actor’s house in Sasthamangalam. The actor got a call from Narendra Modi after 10 am. He got a notification from Delhi that three tickets have been booked in Vistara flight to Bengaluru at 12.30 pm. He immediately packed his bags and along with his wife Radhika and mother-in-law, left to the airport. He spoke to the media before leaving the house and at the airport. He left for Delhi in a chartered flight from Bengaluru. His children left to Delhi from Kochi.
