THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following a demand for special queue for Thiruvananthapuram natives at Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple, the Human Rights Commission has sought an explanation. As per the complaint by Kowdiar Harikumar and Adv Vijayakumar, thousands of devotees from different states come to the temple, the natives of the capital are not able to properly perform darshan.
The complainants have demanded a special queue for local devotees, which a system in place in Guruvayur temple and various temples in Tamil Nadu.
Commission Acting Chairperson and Judicial Member K. Baijunath has asked the temple's executive officer to submit a report on the matter within 15 days.
The complainants said that if a special queue system is implemented, the freedom of worship guaranteed by the Constitution can be ensured.
