PB disappointed by party's defeat in Kerala; CPI to introspect

kk

NEW DELHI: The CPM Politburo has noted that the result of the Lok Sabha elections in Kerala is disappointing and requires deep introspection. The CPI national executive meeting also decided to introspect on the defeat, including the defeat in Thrissur.

Although the Left parties managed to improve their position at the national level, the CPM's performance was poor, including in Kerala and Bengal. It was the CPM Politburo meeting held in Delhi on Sunday that decided to conduct a deep 'introspection'. The CPI national executive meeting chaired by General Secretary D Raja decided to examine the reasons for the defeat in detail after receiving the reports of the state elements.

The decision of the PB meeting attended by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and State Secretary MV Govindan was released as a statement yesterday.
