KALPATTA: Ordained Minister O R Kelu has announced that the proposed change of the word 'colony' will proceed only after considering the opinions of the Scheduled Tribes. Speaking to the media, Kelu noted that the adivasi communities are supportive of the decision to change the term. However, he emphasized that the change will not be immediate and that a new term will not be imposed without consensus. The government aims to foster agreement among the communities involved.

Addressing the issue of animal nuisance in Wayanad, the minister stated that this is the first priority. Further measures will be taken in consultation with the Forest Department. Kelu assured that the concerns of Wayanad will be brought to the attention of the Chief Minister.

Kelu was welcomed by District Secretary P Gagarin upon his arrival at the CPM district committee office. He was also greeted by CPM state committee member and former MLA C K Saseendran, along with district secretariat members VV Baby, A.N. Prabhakaran, K Rafique, PK Suresh and V Ushakumari.
