KOTTAYAM: Lashing out at the central and state governments, the NSS on Saturday stated that both governments are neglecting the forward sections. Speaking at the NSS budget conference, General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair also said that the caste reservation should be put to an end.

"Both the central and state governments are neglecting the forward sections. Implementation of caste census will lead to more corruption in the name of reservation. Both governments are keeping the forward communities away without giving them justice. The stances taken by the state government are inciting communal rivalry. The government will face more setbacks in the future if it doesn't learn its lessons from the failure in the Lok Sabha elections," Sukumaran Nair said.

"The NSS is an organization which carries out exemplary service in the field of private education. However, there is no situation in the state to run schools and colleges smoothly. The laxity of the officials in the legal affairs of aided schools is unforgivable. The authorities are deliberately undermining the aided education sector without taking action against corruption," he said.

"This cannot be accepted. Caste reservation and caste census are meant to appease certain sections which are vote banks. Caste reservation poses a challenge to the integrity of the country. Caste reservation, which divides people in the name of caste, is meant for vote politics. It should be put to an end and an alternative system without caste and religion should be implemented," he added.
