Four-year-old girl falls 20 feet from Anganwadi building; teacher sustains injuries after jumping to save her

IDUKKI: A four-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after falling from an Anganwadi building. The child has been identified as Marina, daughter of Andappan of Kallar Koyeliparambu, studying in Kallaar Vattiyar No 49 Anganwadi. She fell from the second floor of the building. The accident happened Monday afternoon at 12.45 pm.


Reports said the child fell to a depth of twenty feet. Preethi (52) of Kallar Vattiyar Chathanat Veli, a teacher who jumped to save the child also sustained injuries.


The teacher was returning after having food with two children. That time Marina slipped on the water lying on the floor and fell down. The teacher then jumped to save the child.

The teacher fractured her left leg. She is undergoing treatment at Adimali Taluk Hospital. The child was bleeding following a skull fracture. One MRA scan was done. The teacher said the child slipped and fell as the floor was wet.
