CM orders suspension of officials who recommended commutation of sentence for TP murder case accused

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three officers, who recommended commutation of sentence for the accused in the RMP leader T P Chandrasekaran murder case, have been suspended. The government's action comes when the speaker repeats that there is no move for relaxation. The office of the chief minister released a press release when opposition leader V D Satheesan was about to raise the matter in the house.

Joint Superintendent K S Sreejith in charge of Kannur Central Jail Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent Grade-I B G Arun and assistant prison officer O V Reghunath have been ordered to be suspended from service pending investigation.


K K Rema MLA had sought permission to move notice for adjournment motion on the issue, but the Speaker had denied permission. The Speaker dismissed the notice stating that the government has clarified that there is no move for commutation of sentence.
