Inquiry commission finds authority failures in student Siddharth's death at Pookode Veterinary University

WAYANAD: The inquiry commission found out that there was failure from the side authorities in the death of JS Siddharth, student of Pookode Veterinary University. Former Dean MK Narayanan and former Assistant Warden Professor Kanthanathan were found to have lacked vigilance. The inquiry commission report has been forwarded to the Vice Chancellor (VC). The report was handed over last day. MK Narayanan did not properly intervene in the incident. Kanthanathan did not notice anything in the hostel.

The commission criticized that there was no connection with the students. Both are currently under suspension. It is also found that the assistant warden is not aware of the fact that similar incidents have happened earlier. A three-member commission was appointed by the Veterinary University VC. The commission was appointed on March 6. The VC was directed to submit a report within three months.

Siddharth was found hanging dead in the bathroom of the hostel on February 18. On the night of the 16th, SFI activists stripped Siddharth and brutally beat him in the middle of the college hostel. He was kicked in the stomach and punched in the chest. He was beaten with two belts were beaten until they broke. After the beating, he was locked in the room. He also warned others that if the information is disclosed, they'll be harmed. The beating continued the next day. It is reported that Siddharth is mentally broken after being beaten up in front of his friends. On the morning of the 18th, he entered the bathroom saying that he wanted to take a bath. Later he was found hanging.
