'I have only done a small role in the first part, my work is about to start'

Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD continues to captivate audiences with its technical brilliance and stellar performances by superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Shobhana.

Kamal Haasan, who plays a significant role in the film, shared his excitement and insights after watching the movie. Despite his limited role in the first installment, Kamal assured fans that his character, Supreme Leader Yaskin, will have a prominent presence in Kalki-2.

Kamal Haasan's words...

"I saw Kalki. I have done only a small role in the first part. My work is about to begin. I enjoyed the movie very much. In recent times, Indian cinema has been surprising with the kind of movies that have been coming out. That's why Nag Ashwin prepared Kalki. Nag has cleverly made Kalki without an overabundance of religion while incorporating science fiction and mythology.

I haven't acted in films that deal with mythology. My life is with humans. But I loved this story. All the actors are well cast. What can I say about Amit ji? Young generation actor? An actor of the older generation? He has performed so beautifully.

I believe that Nag has made the film mainly with children in mind as his audience. We all have a child within us. Very happy to be a part of it."

The process of casting Kamal Haasan was a lengthy one, taking nearly a year. At a recent pre-release event in Mumbai, producer Ashwini Dutt's daughter Swapna Dutt revealed, "One of the most difficult castings ever was for Kamal sir. His casting was very difficult."

"We were continuing to shoot, but I was like, 'Yaskin, when is Yaskin coming? The whole movie is Yaskin, but where is Yaskin?' How do you portray this person who is equal, honest, or stronger than these two superheroes? Who is that? And we could only think of Kamal sir. It took us a year to figure it out," Swapna said.

Kalki 2898 AD has set high expectations, and with Kamal Haasan promising a substantial role in the sequel, the anticipation for Kalki-2 is palpable.
