Kerala School Kalolsavam to be held in Thiruvananthapuram this year; State School Sports Meet to be held in the name of School Olympics

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister V Sivankutty announced that Thiruvananthapuram will host this year's Kerala School Kalolsavam. The minister said that the Kalolsavam will be held in December and the dates will be announced later.

As per the revised manual, art forms of indigenous people will also be competition items in this year's School Kalolsavam. He also said that the Special School Kalolsavam will be held on September 25, 26 and 27.

"Kerala School Sasthrolsavam will be held in Alappuzha from November 15 to 17. Kerala State School Sports Meet will be held in the name School Olympics this year. Major reforms will be introduced in the Sports Meet. The government has decided to make it an extensive program held once in four years. The first school Olympics will be held in Ernakulam from October 18 to 22," the Minister said during the press conference.

The minister added that TTI, PPTTI Kalolsavam will be held in Pathanamthitta on September 4 and 5. Kollam district had hosted the Kerala School Kalolsavam last year. Kannur district won first place with 952 points, while Kozhikode became the runner-up with 949 points.
