THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The top ranks of the Kerala Police has undergone a major reshuffle with Thiruvananthapuram's Commissioner, CH Nagaraju, replaced by South Zone IG Sparjan Kumar. He will continue to bear the full additional charge of South Zone IG.

Nagaraju has been appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of Police Housing Construction Corporation. This post has been made equal to that of IG. Sanjeeb Kumar Patjoshi, who was the Chairman and Managing Director there, was made the Director General of Investigation in the Human Rights Commission. IG P Prakash, who was in Human Rights Commission, has been made IG of Kozhikode Crime Branch.

Administration DIG is Sateesh Bino, who has returned after a study break. Ankit Ashokan, who was removed from the post of Commissioner following the police action in Thrissur Pooram, has been made the State Special Branch Technical Intelligence Superintendent. C Bastin Sabu, currently serving as the Superintendent of Crime Records Bureau is the new Women and Children Cell AIG.

Neglecting government programs

City Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju's continuous neglect of government programs had a negative effect on him. The DGP recently issued a note yesterday saying that he has noted some IPS officers neglecting important government programs and this should not be repeated. The commissioner was invited to the function of presenting the progress card of the government departments held on June 7 but did not attend.

Even when OR Kelu was sworn in as minister on 23rd, Nagaraju stayed away. Even when the opposition student organizations blocked the education minister on the issue of plus two seats, the commissioner was not there. Apart from summoning Nagaraju and warning him, the DGP sent an advisory note to all IPS officers.
