Koonichi Hills belongs to Amboori gram panchayat of Thiruvananthapuram district. It is also known as Matha Mala. Most people prefer Koonichi Hills for trekking in Amboori which is known for its hills. This hill is also known as Mini Ponmudi of Thiruvananthapuram. Women-only trekking packages are available here. Koonichi Hills has three snow-covered hills. Koonichi Hills presents a beautiful view of the green blanket and mist-capped hills. Trekking starts from Vellarada Kurisumala Sangamavedhi. You can see streams and waterfalls during the 45 minutes of trekking. From the top of the hill, you can see the Komban Kondaketti hills and views of places like Netta Chittar Dam and Amboori. Security arrangements are not permanent so great care should be taken while travelling.
