Cupboard at first sight, bunker when opened; Terrorists' new hideout method in Jammu and Kashmir

KULGAM: The terrorists who were killed in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam on Saturday were hiding in a cupboard inside a house in Chingam Frisal area. Security officials have found that out of the eight terrorists killed, four Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were hiding in specially prepared bunkers in a cupboard. The authorities also informed that they are investigating whether the terrorists have received help from residents.

The video of the hideout of terrorists is circulating on social media. In the released video, security personnel can be seen standing in a room in a house and one of them is seen opening a cupboard in the room. A special facility is made to enter and sit inside this cupboard. Authorities say that the terrorists were hiding there.

Two jawans were martyred in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Kulgam district on Saturday. Army killed eight terrorists. The encounter took place during a joint operation by the CRPC team and the police based on information about the presence of terrorists in two different places in the district. A jawan who was injured in the firing in Modegam village died while undergoing treatment. Another jawan was martyred in an encounter in Frisal area.
