Clash between terrorists and soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir; One soldier martyred

SRINAGAR: A jawan was martyred in an encounter between terrorists and soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam. The jawan was martyred during a joint operation conducted by the CRPF, Sena and Police following information that terrorists were hiding in Modergam village.

Officials said that the soldier, who was seriously injured during the encounter, was rushed to the hospital but his life could not be saved. The Kashmir Regional Police stated in a social media post that the clashes are continuing in the area.

A soldier also died in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir last month. CRPF jawan Kabin Das died. The jawan was seriously injured during an attack on the night of June 11 in Seda Sukhal village of Katwa district. He was then shifted to Seneca Hospital but his life could not be saved.

Ten people were killed when terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir's Rizi last month. 42 people were injured in the incident. The bus was carrying people from UP who were visiting the Shiv Khodi temple. As the bus carrying the UP natives was continuously fired upon, the driver found it difficult to control the bus. Then he lost control and fell into the ravine. But even after this, the terrorists continued to attack.
