PATHANAMTHITTA: Man who joined CPM along with the KAAPA case accused Sharan Chandran was caught by Excise with ganja. Yadu Krishnan, a native of Myladumpara, Pathanamthitta, was caught with two grams of ganja. He was released on bail after a case was filed against him. 62 people from BJP had joined CPM along with Sharan Chandran in Pathanamthitta. They were welcomed to the party by District Secretary KP Udayabhanu in a ceremony attended by Minister Veena George. Meanwhile, the news came out that Sharan Chandran is a KAAPA case accused. Sharan Chandran is accused of cases including assaulting a DYFI worker. Yadu Krishnan had joined the party with him that day.

Meanwhile, the party leadership came forward in defence of Yadu Krishnan. Pathanamthitta area secretary MV Sanju said that Yadu Krishnan is not a ganja user. Sanju also alleged that Yuva Morcha leader Magic Kannan and Excise Officer Aziz were behind the conspiracy. MV Sanju also reminded CPM workers to act cautiously.

Sharan Chandran was arrested and remanded for participating in violence even after KAAPA was imposed. Later, they came to CPM after they were released on bail by the High Court. Minister Veena George had responded that there is currently no KAAPA case against Sharan.
