Vizhinjam port: Oommen Chandy's Assembly speech goes viral amidst political battle

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: While the political battle is raging over the Vizhinjam port, former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's speech in the Legislative Assembly has gone viral on social media. When the Oommen Chandy government went ahead with the Vizhinjam project, the LDF alleged that it was a real estate deal worth 6000 crores. Later the LDF government also went ahead with the project. Oommen Chandy's response to allegations of corruption in the LDF assembly was posted by Congress workers on social media. The foundation stone of Oommen Chandy Port was laid on December 5, 2015.

Oommen Chandy's words...

'One thing is clear. The Vizhinjam port project will be implemented by protecting the interests of the state, no doubt. Anyone can ask doubts and leave suggestions if any. I am ready to accept everything. If you think you can get rid of it by raising allegations of corruption, it won't happen.'
