THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM district committee meeting will be held today to discuss the action against the accused area committee member Pramod Kottooli in the PSC bribery scandal. CPM Kozhikode district committee will meet at 11 am today. State secretariat members TP Ramakrishnan MLA and Minister Muhammad Riyaz will attend the meeting held at the district committee office.

A section of the district committee members are opposing taking action against Pramod. Pramod explained to the district secretariat that he is innocent in the bribery scandal and that the complaint is fabricated. At the same time, people including Minister Riyaz are demanding strict action.

The state secretary and the district secretary reiterate that the party has no role in the bribery and no investigation was conducted. The district committee will discuss the decisions of the district secretariat and town area committee meeting held the previous day. Apart from the bribery case dismissed by the party, efforts are being made to remove Pramod Kottooli from the party committees for the time being based on the discovery that his activities under the town area committee are against party discipline and that Pramod has connections with real estate mafias. The information received is that Pramod will be removed from the position of Area Committee member and CITU District Secretary.
