THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram CBI court has convicted 14 people, including a CPM district committee member, in the murder of Congress leader Anchal Ramabhadran (44) at Yeroor in Anchal. 14 people, including CPM Kollam district committee member Babu Panicker, have been found guilty in the case. At the same time, four accused, including CPM district secretariat member Jayamohan, have been acquitted. The court will pronounce the sentence on July 30.

On April 10, 2010, INTUC office bearer Ramabhadran was hacked to death by CPM activists at his rented house in Yeroor at around 9 pm. The accused stormed into the house when Ramachandran was talking to his children in the kitchen of the house. On seeing the accused, Ramabhadran tried to escape from the house. However, the accused chased him down and hacked him. Although Ramabhadran was immediately rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries the next morning.
