Tribute to man's best friend; autorickshaw drivers erect flex board for their companion dog, Santhoshmon

KOTTAYAM: Santhoshmon... a four-year-old dog who waggled his tail and came running to whoever called him. Today the people of Kaduvakulam are crying for him. Santhoshmon, who was more than a dog to the locals, lost his life in a car accident the other day. Auto Brothers of Kaduvakulam, who loved him like one among them, erected a flex board in tribute to Santhoshmon.

The dog came to Kaduvakulam four years ago. Since then Santhoshmon was always present at the junction and surrounding areas. Autorickshaw drivers provided him with food and water. He became everyone's favourite in a very short time. Vaccines and injections were also taken. Local residents and travellers came to know the news of the dog's demise only after noticing the flex board.

"Santhoshmon has not attacked anyone till date. Anyone who has passed at least one day through Kaduvakulam must have seen the dog. It's like losing a family member."
