CCTV footage captures car used by assailant in Vanchiyoor shooting incident

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CCTV visuals of the car used by the woman assailant in the Vanchiyoor shooting incident emerged on Sunday noon. The family alleged that the assailant fired at the victim almost three times. The police informed that the search for the accused has been intensified.

Shiny of house ‘Pankaj’ in Vallakkadavu, suffered injuries in the shooting incident. According to Shiny, the woman assailant fired one shot on her body while the two others went astray to the floor.

The incident took place at 8:30 am on Sunday. A woman disguised wearing a mask reached Shiny’s home on Sunday morning on the pretext of delivering a courier from Amazon. It was Shiny’s father-in-law who attended to the lady but she insisted on giving the courier directly to Shiny.

Later, there happened a verbal feud between the two and in a sudden reflex, the woman fired at Shiny using an air gun. Shiny’s right hand was injured and she was rushed to a private hospital. It is reported that the woman used hand gloves and covered her face with a mask.

The family said the woman was tall but not slender. Shiny used to get many couriers, mostly related to her work, so the family held no suspicion when the woman appeared on Sunday morning under the pretext of delivering a courier.
