Pressure on Biden to resign from post of President

WASHINGTON: A section of the Democratic Party has intensified the pressure on US President Joe Biden by demanding that he should resign from the post of President and hand over the duties to Vice President Kamala Harris. These leaders believe Kamala Harris will have a better chance of winning if she runs in the presidential elections in November while still serving as president. However, Biden is adamant that he will not resign from the post of president. Earlier, the New York Post had reported that Biden pulled out of the presidential race due to threats from some party leaders. Biden is upset that the dominant faction of the Democratic Party, who used to support him, turned against him at a critical juncture.

Biden has also revealed his resentment to those who are close to him in the party. Meanwhile, some leaders refused to demand Biden's resignation as they believed that provoking Biden further might cause a setback to the party. Earlier, a large section of Democratic leaders had turned against Biden following his poor performance in the presidential debate.

Meanwhile, the American media has noted that Kamala Harris has begun to speak like the president ever since her candidacy was confirmed. Recently, she had insisted to Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu to end the violence in Gaza.
