KOZHIKODE: The Ernakulam - Bengaluru Special Vande Bharat will start service on July 31. The train tickets are selling like hotcakes after the booking has started. The special train will run 12 total services three days a week. Railways is considering regularizing the service if it is profitable. Now there are reports that another Vande Bharat service is about to start in the state.
The fourth Vande Bharat special service will run from Goa to Kozhikode. PT Usha MP informed that this matter is under active consideration of the Central Railway Ministry. The Vande Bharat train currently running in the Goa-Mangalore route is being planned to be extended to Kozhikode.
Goa - Mangaluru service is not making profits. On most days, more than half of the seats are empty. There is a demand to extend this service to Kozhikode.
Railways are in favour of extending the Goa-Mangaluru Vandebharat to Kozhikode. The service will be operational by next month. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the MP in the meeting that he would take a sympathetic stand on the demand to extend Vande Bharat to Kozhikode.
The MP met with the Union Railway Minister on the basis that Goan Malayali community approached PT Usha MP with the demand to extend this train to Kozhikode.
