Expat puts up watches worth lakhs for sale; amount to be handed over to disaster victims in Wayanad

KALPETTA: Rescue operations are in progress in Mundakkai and Chooralmala villages, which were hit by landslides on Tuesday. According to the latest figures, 267 people lost their lives in the incident. It is reported that the death toll is likely to rise further. Nearly 1000 people are currently living in various relief camps. People from different parts of the world have announced help to those affected by the landslides. A large number of people are contributing money to the Chief Minister's relief fund to help the affected people recover.

Now, social media influencer Effin has revealed about three luxury watches he received from a Malayali expat to raise money to help the disaster victims in Wayanad. Taking to his Instagram page, Effin said that he can raise around Rs 84 lakh by selling these three watches. He also said that he would donate this entire amount to the Chief Minister's relief fund.

The watches put up for sale by Effin are Hublot's Big Bang Square Limited Edition watch priced at Rs 21 lakh, Vacheron Overseas Rose Gold edition priced at Rs 33 lakh and Hublot Tiger Limited Edition watch priced at Rs 29 lakh.

"The expat friend told me to sell these watches and hand over the money to the disaster victims in Wayanad. Those interested in buying these watches can contact me through email. If the watches cannot be sold online, we plan to sell them offline and hand over the money to Wayanad," Effin said.
