ATTINGAL: On Saturday night, Vineeth left the house to party with friends and promised to return and dine with the family as Sunday marked his birthday. Vineeth couldn’t keep his promise and returned home lifeless, creating heartbreaking scenes in MLA O S Ambika’s house. When Vineeth’s two-year-old daughter Alayda was brought to pay final respects, the house erupted in tears while onlookers failed to control their emotions.

When the body was taken to the funeral pyre, party members raised slogans eulogising their dear comrade which echoed across the house. Sunday was Vineeth’s 34th birthday. Unaware of the accident and death, wishes kept pouring into Vineeth’s Facebook page.

The accident took place when Vineeth was returning home on a scooter with his friend after closing his restaurant (Thira Seafood Café) in Shankhumugham. The car which was heading towards the airport came on the opposite side and rammed into the scooter at Pallipuram. Varkala native Suraj, who drove the car has been taken into custody.

Vineeth’s funeral was held yesterday at 4 pm. Wife: Priya. Daughter: Two-year-old Alayda. Brother: State Youth Commission Member and CPM District Committee Member VA Vineesh.
