KOCHI: Actor Bala has expressed strong criticism against Santosh Varkey alias 'Aarattannan,' likening his behaviour to that of Aju Alex, alias 'Chekuthan.' Bala stated that such negative YouTubers should be stopped, making his remarks during a Facebook Live session.
The actor was reacting to a recent incident where a YouTube video by 'Chekuthan' insulted actor Mohanlal and the Indian Army during their rescue operations in Wayanad.
"I saw the video just now. When I spoke to Lalettan about it, he wasn’t angry. He simply said that God will take care of it. I also watched an interview with Santosh Varkey. He appeared frightened, acknowledging how wrong it was that Lalettan has been abused by 'Chekuthan' for ten years. But isn’t Santosh Varkey doing the same thing?" Bala asked during his live session.
Bala went on to criticize Varkey, stating that he had made derogatory comments not just about Mohanlal but also about actresses and other actors, including himself.
"Now, like an innocent child, he claims that what 'Chekuthan' did was wrong. But you, too, have spoken very poorly about actresses, Mohanlal and me. A full stop needs to be put to negative YouTubers like this," Bala added.
The actor acknowledged the positive contributions YouTubers have made to the film industry in terms of growth and reviews but emphasized the need for accountability. "There should be a law that those who engage in negative activities will be arrested within 24 hours," Bala concluded in his live session.
