Rave party in apartment: Nine people including 18-year-old girl arrested

KOCHI: 9 people, including an 18-year-old girl, were nabbed in the surprise inspection conducted by the police during a rave party held in an apartment in Kochi. 13.522 grams of MDMA and materials used for sale were also seized from them. The police conducted the raid on Friday night after receiving a tip-off that a rave party was going on at Harvest Apartments near Kakkanad TV Centre.

The arrested people are Palakkad Nochupully native Sadiq Shah (22), Palakkad Olavakkode native Suhail TN (22), Palakkad Mundur native KM Rahul (22), Palakkad Mundur native K Akash (22), Thrissur Chavakkad native Athul Krishna (23), Chavakkad natives PR Muhammad Ramsheekh (23), MS Nikhil (22), UM Nithin (24) and Ragini (18).

The rave party was held in the apartment rented by Sadiq Shah. Although the accused told the police that they got the MDMA from the road, the police have not taken their statement into confidence. The police said that the accused used to sell drugs. Although they were interrogated several times, they refused to say where they got the drugs from. The accused, who were produced in the court, have been remanded.

Ragini, a student, came to the apartment with a male friend. The police said that all the other accused had completed their education. The SHO of Infopark Station said that an application will be made to the court tomorrow to take the accused into custody and interrogate them.
