MUMBAI: The convoy of former Maharashtra chief minister and Shiv Sena Uddhav Wing President Uddhav Thackeray, was attacked. The activists of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) hurled coconuts and cow dung at Uddhav’s convoy a day after Raj Thackeray’s convoy was attacked.
The MNS activists said this attack is in response to the attack on their president Raj Thackeray's car on Friday with betel nuts and tomatoes. More than twenty people have been detained in connection with the attack. The security of both have been increased to prevent further problems.
There was a verbal exchange of words between Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray before the Lok Sabha elections. In March, Uddhav Thackeray had criticized the meeting held between MNS chief Raj Thackeray and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. 'First, they stole Bal Thackeray's photo but it doesn't matter, today they are trying to steal another Thackeray, take it. Me and my people are enough. BJP knows very well that they will not get votes in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Maharashtra. People are voting here in the name of Bal Thackeray. Uddhav Thackeray's response was that it was this realization that prompted the BJP to steal leaders from outside.
