MEPPADI: Heavy rains in Wayanad hindered the rescue operations in Chooralmala on Sunday. With the rains intensifying, the officials decided to temporarily stop the rescue operations. The search for the missing people will resume after rain abates a little in the disaster-stricken site. Minister Mohammed Riyas informed about starting a detailed search operation in Chaliyar river on Monday.

The rescue team found three body parts from debris on Sunday. With rain making it difficult to airlift the corpses, the rescue team carried the dead bodies on their shoulders and walked the terrain. The body parts were found in Kanthanpara during a search conducted by volunteers and forest department officials.
