THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has addressed the controversy surrounding the Kafir screenshot, which has recently drawn significant public and media attention. When asked by reporters about the police report submitted to the High Court, Chief Minister Vijayan stated that he had only seen the report in the newspaper. He indicated that he would review the details once the official investigation report is available but declined to comment further at this time.

In response to the controversy, MLA K.K. Shailaja criticized CPM leader and former MLA K.K. Lathika for sharing the Kafir screenshot, calling the action inappropriate. Lathika, when questioned about her decision to share the screenshot, responded that it was unnecessary for the general public to be informed about it.

Shailaja emphasized that the creator of the Kafir screenshot should be identified and held accountable, asserting that true leftists would not engage in such behaviour. She pointed out that the Kannur district secretary had denied any involvement of cyber groups in the police report and suggested that some individuals were misusing party symbols to undermine the left. Shailaja also noted that the media should investigate not only the Kafir screenshot but also other instances of false propaganda against her.

Regarding the police report, Shailaja stated she had not seen it but insisted that the police should gather accurate information. She called for legal action against those spreading false propaganda.

Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan has made serious allegations regarding the Kafir screenshot controversy, comparing the situation to terrorist activity. Satheesan claimed that similar activities had occurred in Vadakara and that the police were aware of who was behind them but were not disclosing this information. He criticized top CPM leaders, including former MLA K.K. Lathika and vowed to continue the legal battle until the true perpetrators are identified.
