Samsung Galaxy offers Up to ₹8 crore reward for discovering security vulnerabilities

samsung-

Samsung Galaxy has introduced a lucrative opportunity for tech enthusiasts and security experts. The company is offering a reward of up to $1 million (approximately ₹8 crore) for those who can identify and exploit security issues in its software. Specifically, anyone who successfully hacks into Samsung’s new Knox Vault phone and executes remote code on the hardware security system could win this top prize.

The challenge is to uncover vulnerabilities that would allow hackers to infiltrate Samsung's software systems, gain control, leak data, or bypass device security. Samsung's Knox Vault is designed to securely store cryptographic keys, mobile device data and biometric information. For those able to unlock a previously secured phone and extract information, rewards of up to $400,000 are available.

Additionally, participants can earn up to $60,000 simply by installing an app on a device remotely via the Galaxy Store. Detailed criteria for participation can be found on Samsung’s website. This initiative, known as the Bug Bounty program, was launched in 2017. Since its inception, Samsung has awarded approximately ₹36 crore in rewards to participants.
