KOZHIKODE: 'Money is paid to be ready for adjustment. If there is no adjustment, there is no role, no money." This is the revelation of K Amrita, a resident of Perambra, Kozhikode, against a producer. The incident that Amrita is complaining about took place in 2023. Amrita's statement is that producer Shaiju, who called her to play the role of Aparna's friend in a film starring Kunchacko Boban, Tovino Thomas and Aparna Balamurali, spoke in this way.
Special Branch SI K Pradeep and his team reached her house and took the statement of the girl. The SI said that he handed over a report to the Special Branch DYSP Subhash Babu regarding Amrita's statements and an FIR would be filed if the complaint is given in writing.
Amrita's statement:
I got a passion for cinema after I completed journalism and started working in a channel. I worked on four films through a friend.
One day a producer who introduced himself as Shiju called. Rs 2,40,000 was offered as remuneration. Rs 50,000 will be given as an advance. But, I should be prepared for adjustments. When asked what adjustment is needed, he said I should go to the room if the director calls. "If the salary is for the adjustment, you can leave it aside and I will act for free," I said. His reply is that there are people here ready for adjustment and acting without taking any money. I am ready to file a complaint anywhere.
Amrita said that she is opening up for the sake of hundreds of female artists who come for the love of cinema.
