Salary challenge: Govt issues guidelines

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has issued an order containing guidelines for deducting five days' salary of employees as part of the Salary Challenge for Wayanad.

The order suggests deducting the salary in two to four instalments from employees who have submitted their consent forms. Earlier, it was announced that a maximum of three instalments would be allowed. The order also includes provisions for granting permission to surrender earned leave and to contribute money by reducing the PF contribution. However, the order does not mention whether five days' salary should be deducted from those who have not submitted their consent forms.
