'Manjummel Boys' assistant director and sculptor Anil Xavier passes away

ANGAMALY: Anil Xavier (39), sculptor and co-director of films including Jaan E Mann, Thallumala, Manjummel Boys and Thekku Vadakku, passed away on Tuesday. Anil was undergoing treatment after suffering a heart attack while playing football.

Anil is the son of PA Xavier and Alphonsa of Pulyellpadi house in Angamaly Kidangoor. Anil and his wife Anupama Elias were working on an art project centered in Angamaly.

After completing his BFA from RLV College, Tripunithura, Anil did his MFA in Sculpture from the Central University of Hyderabad. Anil is also known for creating the memorial sculpture of Rohit Vemula, his colleague at the campus. He also worked as a part of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale.
