THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There was a rain of accusations against actors of the Malayalam film industry soon after the release of the Hema Committee report. Mohanlal had resigned from president post of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) and its executive committee was disbanded. None of the superstars of the industry had responded on the accusations levelled.
Mohanlal will meet the media at noon today after 12 days of the release of the report. He will meet the media after attending the programme organized by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) in the capital city. Kerala is looking forward to whether the actor will answer the questions related to the Hema Committee report, the rift in AMMA and the allegations of sexual harassment against his colleagues.
Mohanlal has been silent ever since the Hema Committee report surfaced. The association’s general secretary Siddique convened a press meet on the report in place of Mohanlal, who was away citing health issues. That press meet led to the fall of the association. Mohanlal resigned from his post following allegations leveled against contemporaries and fellow actors.
Mohanlal is the lone president of AMMA who had to step down before completing his term. Soon after, AMMA'S governing body was dissolved. Only a single page statement of AMMA came before the public. Mohanlal is participating in three events in Thiruvananthapuram. The first of these is the Kerala Cricket Association's programme held at 12 noon.
