KOCHI: Dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi came down heavily on the Hema committee report saying that the committee refused to hear the plight faced by ordinary women workers in the film industry.
Bhagyalakshmi:
“The phone numbers of ordinary workers were handed over to the committee but they refused. The members were only keen on knowing the sexual exploitation news in the industry and never cared to look into the lack of basic facilities and hardships faced by women in the industry.
The Hema Committee report is biased and only sheds light on one section. Only four people, including myself, from dubbing artists' and make-up artists' organizations went to meet the committee. Ever since the report came out, all the women in the film are facing insults and jibes. If Justice Hema had know-how about the assaults, she should have asked the police to initiate action rather than not talking about it for four long years.
The accusations levelled against me are baseless. Before the meeting started in Kochi, two girls started venting their anger and were shouting. The talk mentioned their plans to demolish FEFKA. I know who is behind the hit job. I have got the CCTV visuals and will soon file a complaint to the chief minister."
Organization leaders Seema Haridas and Sweety also attended the press conference along with Bhagyalakshmi.
