26-year-old youth electrocuted while visiting friend in hospital

KOZHIKODE: A youth, who came to the hospital to meet his friend, has been electrocuted. The incident happened at a private hospital in Karinkutty, Thiruvambady in Kozhikode. The dead is Abin Binu (26) of Puthiyakunnel. Abin reached the hospital last night to visit his ailing friend Sharath. Abin was talking to him for an hour. Meanwhile, Abin was electrocuted when he came in touch with the wire tied to a plant near the canteen of the hospital.

Sharath said that he was electrocuted when he stepped on the wire lying down. Sharath also got shock when he tried to hold Abin. After carrying Abin with the help of another person, they informed the hospital authorities. They informed that there were no power issues. Sharath said the hospital authorities did not even provide a stretcher to make him lie down. He was taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance, but the doctors confirmed his death.
