CHENNAI: Prominent Tamil filmmaker Dilli Babu (50) passed away. He passed away today at 12.30 am in Chennai. He was undergoing treatment in a private hospital for the past few days due to health issues. Dilli Babu's sudden demise has come as a shock to the Tollywood.
His body was brought to his home in Perungalathur, Chennai around 10.30 am. The funeral is at 4:30 pm today. Dream Warrior Pictures producer SR Prabhu condoled the demise of Dilli Babu through social media. “He is a person who has helped many youngsters and new talents a lot. It is a big loss for the film industry. My condolences," Prabhu wrote. Other celebrities including producer G Dhananjayan also expressed their condolences.
Dilli Babu is a producer who has produced several mid-budget films under the banner Access Film Factory. The first film was Urumeen released in 2015. He has produced films like Maragadha Nanayam, Iravukk Aayiram Kangal, Ratsasan, Oh My Kadavule, Miral and Kalvan. Kalvan was released last month.
He gave a chance to many new directors with mid-budget films. Released in 2018, Ratsasan was one of the biggest surprise hits of the year. The film has been remade in various languages.
