'My power group'; actor Kunchacko Boban's cheeky Instagram post raises eyebrows

KOCHI: Malayalam actor Kunchacko Boban’s latest Instagram post is now being discussed on social media. The actor posted a video of him spending family time with his wife Priya and son Isahak Kunchacko Boban. However, what stood odd was the caption chosen by the star actor — ‘My Power Group’.

Earlier, the Hema committee report mentioned the presence of certain ‘power groups’ within the Malayalam film industry, which ignited debate in Kerala. Some women actors also confirmed the presence of such ‘power groups’ in the industry. It is against this backdrop that Kunchacko decided to use this cheeky caption.

The video comes at a time when director Soumya Sadanandan, who helmed the movie ‘Mangalyam Thanthunanena’ starring Kunchacko, came with serious allegations.

“People with ‘good boy image’ have another shade to their character which often goes unnoticed. Without my consent the lead actor and co-producer edited the movie, which was unacceptable” This was Soumya's allegation.

Hitherto, Kunchacko Boban has not responded to the controversies that erupted in the Malayalam industry after the release of the Hema committee report. The implicit jibe through the Instagram post is certain to trigger new debates on social media.
