Accident: Nine people including Wayanad disaster victims Shruthi and Jenson inured

KALPETTA: Nine people sustained injuries after a private bus and a van collided at Vellaramkunnu in Kalpetta on Tuesday. The injured people have been admitted to a private hospital in Kalpetta. Shruthi and Jenson, who were involved in the Wayanad disaster, are among the injured. Jensen, who sustained a head injury, has been shifted to Dr Moopen's Medical College.

Shruthi's father Shivannan, mother Sabitha and younger sister Shreya had gone missing in the Wayanad landslides. Only Shreya's dead body was found. Shruthi survived the tragedy as she was at her relative's house at the time of the landslide.

Shruthi's marriage was scheduled to take place in December. The family had saved Rs 4.5 lakh and 15 sovereigns of gold for her wedding expenses. However, all that was lost in the landslides. Shruthi and Jenson have been in a relationship for 10 years.
