MALAPPURAM: The state government has transferred Malappuram SP Sasidharan following the news of allegations raised by MLA PV Anvar. The Home Department has implemented a major reshuffle in the district police force, which includes the transfer of the Superintendent of Police (SP) and several Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs). Officers in the Subdivisions, including the Special Branch, have also been transferred. DySP VV Benny has also been transferred based on a complaint filed by a woman from Ponnani. Speaking to a private channel, PV Anvar expressed satisfaction with the reshuffle in the police department.
Former Malappuram SP and Pathanamthitta District Police Chief S Sujith Das was suspended following Anwar's revelations. Anwar had earlier clarified that he would not apologize for his statements against SP S Sasidharan. He had alleged that Sasidharan was a sadist and an egoist.
"He is not a good officer. I would give him zero marks. I won't apologise to him," the MLA said.
