Liquor sales surge in Kerala during Onam season: outlet in Malappuram district secures first spot

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As expected, Kerala has witnessed a surge in liquor sales during this Onam festival as well. Liquor worth Rs 818.21 crore was sold between September 6 and 17. Liquor worth Rs 809.25 crore was sold during the Onam season last year.

This year's Onam liquor sales saw Tirur BEVCO outlet in Malappuram district take the top spot, selling Rs 5.59 crore worth of liquor in just 10 days. Karunagappally BEVCO outlet came second, selling Rs 5.14 crore worth of liquor. Thiruvananthapuram's Power House Road BEVCO outlet ranked third, with sales of Rs 5.01 crore.
