Entered the country without sufficient documents; Bangladeshi victim in Kochi sexual assault case arrested

KOCHI: The Bangladeshi woman who was the victim of sexual assault in Kochi has been arrested for entering India without proper documents. The woman has been remanded. The other day, police had arrested three members of the sex racket gang that subjected the woman to sexual assault. The arrested persons are Serena, Jagatha and Shyam. Meanwhile, police are conducting a probe to find more accused involved in the case.

Jagatha brought the woman to Kochi by promising her a job at a spa to be opened in the city. The woman, who reached Kochi 10 days ago, was subjected to brutal harassment. According to the police, the accused allegedly forced the woman into prostitution, making her have sex with multiple people daily. Jagatha told the police that she did not buy the woman for money.
